Welcome to 'Delta Tek Sound'.
aka Daniel Armstrong.

What is Delta Tek Sound?

Daniel Armstrong is a UK based Drum & Bass artist and sound studio equipment enthusiast. The main music style is Drum & Bass with hints of 'old skool' jungle, rave and modern EDM styles. Some tracks have a sci-fi, "spacey" vibe, while others have an atmospheric feel - via the use of various synthesizer sounds, effects and vocals. Some tracks are constructed in an attempt to have a certain meaning and depth - which can be lacking in this type of music. The 2021 album 'out of here' is the first full album from Delta Tek Sound and sets the foundation for things to come - which can be heard on many streaming sites such as Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music and Youtube Music.

Background

As a teenager Daniel was completely stunned by the music of The Prodigy, which at the time was a complete breath of fresh air - along with the 'jungle' and 'drum n bass' scene that emerged around the same time. Daniel also, subsequently became extremely interested in music technology after starting to read the magazine Future Music.  And so, in the mid 90's, unable to resist - Daniel started making music on a Commodore Amiga 1200 using 'Octamed', 'Bars and Pipes', and later 'Cubase' using an Atari computer. Sadly in the early 2000’s all of his equipment, and most of his possessions, were stolen in a burglary. However, a few recorded tracks and an archive of 8 bit samples were all preserved on a DAT tape. After a while Daniel felt the only way to get on track was to get some sort of higher education. It was not possible to gain entry to any type of music school due to the lack of funds, so a government funded education was the only way, and so a personal quest began to rebuild his life.

Having gained a degree in Diagnostic Radiography and a stable job in 2007 Daniel started rebuilding his music setup and experimenting with new equipment and techniques in order to start making music again.
